Playtime Fun

Isabel loves when daddy builds her a fort from all of the cushions on the couch. She can bounce back and forth and play as long as she wants without falling down.

Swimming

Isabel and Ella went for their first swim of the year yesterday. They both had a lot of fun splashing and playing, and we can't wait to take them to the big pool.

Happy Birthday Meredyth

Happy Birthday Meredyth!

Isabel has a definite opinion of how things should be done these days, and she did not think we should make a birthday sign for Meredyth today. But she still wants to wish you a happy birthday.

Trip to the zoo

It was a beautiful, not too hot day here today so Isabel and I decided to go to the zoo. We had so much fun. She really enjoyed seeing all the animals and "talking" to them. For any animal that I didn't have a sound for she either woofed or baa-ed at them, but for everything else she went around roaring, or screeching, or making whatever sounds the animals make. It is so great to see her interact so much with everything. It was much different than the trip we took to the zoo in January.

There were seven elephants in this enclosure, and yet we didn't manage to get any in our picture, oh well. The elephants and monkeys were definitely Isabel's favorites.

Happy 1st Birthday Walt!

Bike

Isabel loves to ride her bike! I cleaned it up and brought it inside to give her something to hold onto as she walks, but she is only interested in sitting on it. For the most part her engine is stuck in reverse and she very quickly backs into the walls, and every once in a while she manages to go forward and gets very excited.

Hangers

Isabel loves to play with hangers! When I need to be in the bathroom I just leave her in our closet with a few and she is happy for at least 30 minutes, which is forever in Isabel's world. She sits there arranging them and separating them and piling them on her lap. Tonight daddy got down every single extra hanger we had and Isabel squealed in delight and was in heaven.

15 month checkup

Isabel had her 15 month checkup this morning. She is a very healthy little girl, growing as expected. She definitely remembered the doctors office this time and did not want to be there at all!

This visit's stats were:
Length 31", 75th % (I think this might be a little high, I think she is closer to 30")
Weight 19 lbs, 5%

Chopsticks

We had chicken fried rice the other night for dinner. Robert was using chopsticks and Isabel wanted a try. She was actually better with the chopsticks than she is with a fork.

The Great Outdoors

Isabel loves to be outside, and we spend as much time outdoors as we can. It is much easier to keep her entertained outside than in. She loves to dig in the mulch, splash in the water from the sprinklers, smell all of the flowers, check out the trees, and look for bugs.

Every day I pick leaves off of our mint plant and chew on them, even though every time I spit them out like they are the grossest thing ever.

Sometimes the funniest thing ever is to fall down backwards, the grass is just so tickley.

Curls

Isabel has curls! At first I thought she just had flyaway hair, but as it gets longer and the days more humid it is definitely getting curlier at the ends. She even has some cute little ringlets in the back. I don't know if they are going to stick around, but I'm going to enjoy them while she has them. Imagine me with a curly-haired baby, who would have thought?

Isabel's View

Isabel loves to look out her window, she grabs her blanket and stands at it sucking her thumb, looking for birds and other interesting things. Robert decided that she needed something other than a fence to look at so he put up a flower box for her this weekend and I planted some flowers. She loves it, every time she wakes up she has to go have a look.
